  1. Open Safari, then type payroll.intuit.com into the address bar.
  2. Select Enter.
  3. Select Bookmarks and then Add Bookmark from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Top Sites from the drop-down menu under Add this page.
  5. Then, select Add option.

For Internet Explorer Users

  1. Open Internet Explorer after closing QuickBooks.
  2. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Compatibility from the Tools menu. View the options.
  4. Under the Compatibility View settings screen, tick the box that says “Display all websites in Compatibility View.”
  5. Return to the Tools area by selecting Close.
  6. Select the Security tab, then Trusted Sites.
  7. Click the Sites button, then type https://*.intuit.com in the Add this website to the zone blank section and click Add.
  8. Replace https://*.quickbooks.com with https://*.quickbooks.com.
  9. Close the window and select the Custom level from the drop-down menu.
  10. Miscellaneous can be found by scrolling down.
  11. Under Allow Cross domain requests, select Enable and then OK.
  12. Exit Internet Explorer after selecting Apply.

Solution 3. Change Windows Firewall Settings to Allow QuickBooks to access the Internet

  1. Open the Start menu in Windows.
  2. Open Windows Firewall by typing “Windows Firewall” into the search bar.
  3. After that select Advanced Options.
  4. Right-click Inbound Rules (outbound rules will be created later). Then choose New Rule from the drop-down menu.
  5. Select Port and afterwards click on Next.
  6. Ensure that TCP is selected.
  7. Enter the specific ports required for your QuickBooks year version in the Specific local ports field:
  8. Select Next after you’ve entered the port number.
  9. After that, select Allow Connection and then Next.
  10. Make sure all profiles are marked if requested. Next should be selected.
  11. Make a rule for yourself. Make a name for it, such as “QBPorts(year).”
  12. Select Finish when you’re finished.
